SIZING GUIDE
Each Nine Lives Jewellery piece is made to be lived in, not left in a drawer. This is why finding your perfect fit matters.
The most accurate way ᯓ★
Head to your nearest jeweller and have your finger sized. It takes minutes, is usually free, and guarantees the right fit from the start. No app or string trick will ever beat a professional sizing. Especially if you're ordering a custom piece, pleaseeee take my advice on this one and get your finger/s sized professionally.
Collection sizes ᯓ★
For collection pieces, I keep a very limited stock of the most common sizes: M, O and R. All other sizes are made to order with a lead time of 2-3 weeks. With only nine of each design ever made, sizing is part of what ensures each piece finds its true wearer.
Measuring at home ᯓ★
If getting to a jeweller isn’t possible, use the conversion chart below along with the measuring guide. Take your time: measure more than once and at different times of the day, as fingers can shift slightly with temperature.

Method 1: An existing ring
- Choose a ring that already fits the finger you’re buying for.
- Place it flat on a ruler and measure straight across the inside edge to inside edge (do not include the band itself).
- Note the inner diameter in millimetres.
- Compare this number to the “inner diameter” column in the conversion chart.
While this method works well, nothing is more accurate than having your size measured professionally.
Method 2: Paper strip
- Cut a strip of paper about 8–9cm long and 5mm wide. (For wider rings, use a strip closer to 1.5cm wide.)
- Wrap the strip snugly around the part of your finger where the ring will sit — getting a friend to help makes it easier.
- Mark the point where the paper overlaps.
- Lay the strip flat and measure the length in millimetres. This number is your circumference.
- Match the measurement to the “mm” column in the conversion chart to find your size.
Please double-check your measurements for accuracy. I've noticed that it's fairly common to measure incorrectly using this method, which is why I'd recommend Method 1 if you have to measure from home.
Resizing ᯓ★
In the event that your ring doesn’t fit, don’t panic, there are options. Visit our Resizing & Repairs page for full details.
But to avoid extra costs or delays, please double check your measurements or, even better, have your finger sized professionally before ordering.
